10 billion VND for VNUHCM Start-up Fund Print

In the signing ceremony of cooperation to operate the Start-up program 2016-2020 in VNUHCM-Information Technology Park in the morning of 17 October, Hoa Sen Group (HSG) sponsored 10 billion VND for VNUHCM Start-up Fund.

International University awarded Bachelor degrees to 618 students course 2012-2016 Print

On 14 October, VNUHCM-International University held a graduation ceremony for 618 students of 7 faculties and majors of class of 2012-2016. This is the 10th graduation ceremony of VNUHCM-International University after 13 years of establishment.

The University of Mahidol visited and met with students of VNU-HCM Print

              On March 25, 2013 the delegates from Mahidol University, Thailand, led by Prof. Bundhit Jirajariyavej, Vice President, came to visit and meet with the Presidential Board. Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice President welcomed and worked with the delegates.

AUN-QA Quality Certificate Award Ceremony at VNU-HCM Print

The AUN-QA Quality Certificate Award Ceremony for programmes from member universities of VNU-HCM that have successfully passed AUN Actual Quality Assessment was held on 09 April, 2013. These programmes include Vietnamese Studies Programme of University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Information Technology Programme of University of Science; Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Programme and Manufacturing Engineering Programme of University of Technology together with 3 programmes of International University: Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology and Business Administration.


          On April 20, 2012, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City’s External Relations Department held a seminar entitled “Higher degree by research” in English for researchers, faculty and graduate students of VNU-HCM and of VNU’s affiliated units.     

          Attending the seminar, the researchers and faculty members who are in need of a search for graduate scholarships would be equipped with the basic knowledge about the procedure and how to seize the opportunity to receive scholarships, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Phuc – Director of External Relations Department of VNU-HCM said.

          At the seminar, Prof. Ron Edwards, Vice Pesident Academic at RMIT University Vietnam and Dr. Duong Thi Hoang Oanh, Vice Director of External Relations Department of VNU-HCM, delivered the speeches and answered all the researchers and graduate students’ questions about how to prepare a thesis for examination, how to approach and apply for scholarships.

          For further information, the seminar is the opening for the series of training and practicing activities, which will be organized by External Relations Department of VNU-HCM in June 2012. The following seminar will be "Skills to access to scholarship resources and prepare for international applications" for staff, faculty and those who are in search for scholarships and opportunities to attend international master or Ph.D programs.


Program for Leadership in University Management Print

          From March 04 – 09/2012, the delegation of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City took part in the Program for Leadership in University Management hosted by National University of Singapore with the support of Temasek Foundation. This program creates a platform for Asian university leaders to discuss issues and to share experiences related to higher education governance and management.

          Representing VNU-HCM, Prof. Dr. Phan Thanh Binh, President; Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh, Vice President; Prof. Dr. Vu Dinh Thanh, Rector of University of Technology, and Prof. Dr. Do Phuc, Director of External Relations joined this workshop.

          In this workshop, the participants discussed on topics including higher education in the 21st century; faculty appointment, development and retention; educational philosophy and curriculum reform; scientific research; internationalization, branding; and quality assurance, etc...

          Besides participating in workshop, roundtable discussion, the attendees also had a chance to learn about Scholarship Program, Center of Excellence, T-Lab, Collaborative model between DUKE and NUC, etc.

          This workshop attracted many participants form prestigious universities in Asia such as Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

MOU signing Ceremony between VNU–HCM and Jeju National University Print

           On February 23, 2012, the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding took place between Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh (VNU-HCM) represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh – Vice President and Jeju National University (JNU), South Korea by Prof. Huh Hyang Jin – President.

           The ceremony was held under the witness of Dr. Duong Thi Hoang Oanh - Vice Director of External Relations Department - VNU-HCM, Mr. Kang Young Hoon-Dean of International Affairs- JNU, Prof. Song Kwan Jeong-Faculty of Bioscience and Industry-College of Applied Life Sciences- JNU, Prof. Kang Hoon-Faculty of Bioscience and Industry-College of Applied Life Sciences-JNU, Prof. Lee Ho Won-Chemical & Biological Engineering- College of Engineering-JNU, and Mr. Kang Nam Hoon-Officer of General Affairs-JNU.

           The content of the agreement is to establish a bilateral relationship and a program of lecturers and post-graduate student exchange. It includes (1) Promoting joint research programs between the two universities, (2) Exchanging faculty, administrator and student (3) Exchanging academic materials and information and (4) other academic activities, etc.

           At the ceremony, each university had introduced an overview of its own establishment, development, education scheme and graduate programs. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh, Vice President of VNU-HCM, stated that this collaborative program would open up more opportunities for not only Vietnamese or Korean students to study and do research but also researchers in Vietnam or Korea to have mutual exchanges of academic materials and to share scientific research experience.

           In addition, Prof. Huh Hyang Jin - President of JNU, hoped that JNU would have cooperation with the member universities of VNU-HCM on some academic programs in the future. JNU is one of Korea’s top universities. The university consists of 11 colleges, faculties and departments.
