MOU signing Ceremony between VNU–HCM and Jeju National University Print

           On February 23, 2012, the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding took place between Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh (VNU-HCM) represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh – Vice President and Jeju National University (JNU), South Korea by Prof. Huh Hyang Jin – President.


           The ceremony was held under the witness of Dr. Duong Thi Hoang Oanh - Vice Director of External Relations Department - VNU-HCM, Mr. Kang Young Hoon-Dean of International Affairs- JNU, Prof. Song Kwan Jeong-Faculty of Bioscience and Industry-College of Applied Life Sciences- JNU, Prof. Kang Hoon-Faculty of Bioscience and Industry-College of Applied Life Sciences-JNU, Prof. Lee Ho Won-Chemical & Biological Engineering- College of Engineering-JNU, and Mr. Kang Nam Hoon-Officer of General Affairs-JNU.


           The content of the agreement is to establish a bilateral relationship and a program of lecturers and post-graduate student exchange. It includes (1) Promoting joint research programs between the two universities, (2) Exchanging faculty, administrator and student (3) Exchanging academic materials and information and (4) other academic activities, etc.


           At the ceremony, each university had introduced an overview of its own establishment, development, education scheme and graduate programs. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh, Vice President of VNU-HCM, stated that this collaborative program would open up more opportunities for not only Vietnamese or Korean students to study and do research but also researchers in Vietnam or Korea to have mutual exchanges of academic materials and to share scientific research experience.


           In addition, Prof. Huh Hyang Jin - President of JNU, hoped that JNU would have cooperation with the member universities of VNU-HCM on some academic programs in the future. JNU is one of Korea’s top universities. The university consists of 11 colleges, faculties and departments.
