20 research topics of VNUHCM students won Eureka 2016 Prizes. Print

In the morning of December 11th, in the Hall of HCMC Youth Cultural House, the Award for Student Scientific Research - Eureka 2016 held by HCM City Communist Youth Union and VNUHCM were granted to 20 scientific research topics of VNU-HCM students.

Team of VNUHCM-University of Information Technology students and VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law were awarded the First Prizes of Eureka 2016.

 

Attending the ceremony were Mrs. Than Thi Thu - Head of the Propaganda Department-HCM City Communist Party Committee, Dr. Duong Anh Duc – Vice President of VNUHCM, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Permanent Delegation Members, Chairman of Vietnam Student Association-HCM, Chief of Award Organizing Standing Committee, Doan Kim Thanh - member of Standing Committee of HCMC Communist Youth Union, Director of Center of Science and Technology Development for Youth.

In particular, the topic "Detection, face recognition and smart video applications on mobile devices," of the group of authors Nguyen Dinh Luan, Le Quang Dinh (Faculty of Information Technology – VNUHCM-University of Science) and "System construction research the CRM application at the University of Economics and Law" by the group of Nguyen Phat Dat, To Mi Diem, Thai Xuan Duy, Trang Thi Ut Quyen (Faculty of Information system – VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law) won the First Prizes.

VNUHCM-University of Science also won two Second Prizes, one Third Prize, four Consolation Prizes; VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law won one Second Prize and one Consolation prize more. VNUHCM-University of Technology had won two second prizes, one consolation prize; VNUHCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities and VNUHCM-University of Information Technology won one Third Prize and two Consolation Prize for each.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Anh Duc – Vice President of VNUHCM awarded merits of VNUHCM for 34 teachers whose many years joined in Eureka Scientific Council.

Eureka Award 2016 attracted the participation of more than 1,400 students representing 75 universities, colleges, institutes of the 18 provinces and cities nationwide with 621 topics. Among them, 267 authors and 115 scientific research projects in 12 areas had reached the final with 85 winning topics, including 9 First Prize.
