3,000 FOREIGN STUDENTS, DOCTORAL CANDIDATES STUDYING AT VNUHCM

On 8/12 at Lotte Legend Hotel, VNUHCM held a Foreign Affairs Party 2016. Representatives from ministries, HCMC and other provinces’ People’s committee, Consulate General at HCMC, international organizations, businesses, sponsors attended the meeting.

In a report summarizing the work of international cooperation in 2016, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat, deputy director of the VNUHCM said, VNUHCM has more than 60 joint training programs with foreign universities. VNUHCM shows more active role in international educational organizations such as AUF – Francophone University Agency, AUN – ASEAN University Network, RESCIF – Network of excellence in engineering science of French-Speaking Community,..

Currently, VNUHCM is implementing effectively 50 projects of international cooperation in education and science technology. Among them, there are some outstanding projects such as Vietnam Skills for Employment Project (VSEP) funded by the Canadian government; project Processing and transfering waste in aquaculture into electricity using new generation solid cell, implemented in the Mekong Delta and sponsored by Japanese government; project Enforcing Ability of Water Management Center and Climate Change sponsored by Dutch government; Project Alliance higher education in engineering (HEEAP) sponsored by US government; project Centre Asiatique sponsored by Network of excellence in engineering science of French-Speaking Community…

VNUHCM has gradually become the trusted destination for foreign students. In 2016, VNUHCM welcome more than 3,000 students, graduate students and doctoral candidates come to study and research at trực thuộc centers and member universities.

Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat respectly thanks to the central ministries, authorities of HCMC and Binh Duong, foreign affairs, international organizations, businesses and sponsors have cooperated and helped VNUHCM in recent years.
