Global Education Integration Is Inevitable

It was the affirmation of Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia – Vice President Director of VNUHCM at the conference Human resources for international integration: Reality and Solutions which occurred in the morning of December 16th, at VNUHCM Administration Building.
The conference received 18 articles of lecturers inside and outside VNUHCM, and Human resources managers of enterprises. Within the framework of the conference, 3 speeches were chosen to present before more than 60 representatives from the universities, student support centers and enterprises.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Deputy Director of Center of Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labor Market Information HCMC began with a discussion of Education and training demand of human resources in Vietnam for international integration. Mr. Tuan informed that every year HCMC trained more than 200.000 trainees, students of all levels, occupational groups, and in 2016 the trained labor was estimated to the rate of 75%. However, the quality of labor was still low compared to the requirements of city development. Mr. Tuan also gave prediction about city human resources from stage 2016-2020 to 2025 of each career, in which the trend of new occupational group prediction was noticeable. “The integration period will open up many job opportunities as well as higher demands for workers. Therefore, workers must have the skills, morals, the industrial styles of work besides good specialized knowledge” – emphasized by Mr. Tuan.
In the discussion of Management of civil servants team – central element, decisive significance in reforming the economy and international integration in Vietnam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Pham Duc Chinh (VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law) pointed out the reality of civil servants team management in Vietnam with 4 issues: Fixed, rigid recruitment process; Working environment with heavy form of democratic, no longer suitable; Inadequate remuneration, some people have less nominal wages but “very decent living”; The unfriendly relationship between superiors and subordinates reaching alarming level.
Dr. Le Thi Thanh Mai – Director of VNUHCM Department of Student Affairs pointed out the issue of VNUHCM in the background of ASEAN community. According to Ms. Mai, VNUHCM determined 5 main strategic groups and many specific activities assisting students in academic integration, movement activities, cooperating links with other members.
The conference also discussed 3 topics: The trend of recruitment and challenges for students; Solutions from schools, enterprises, students; Programs that enterprises can participate in with schools.
Summarizing the conference, Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia expressed that “the triangle” between schools – students – enterprises should get access and exchange more. “How Vietnam students can find jobs in the country of Vietnam. And Vietnam enterprises attract workers in their own country, that is also part of the integration” – emphasized by Mr. Nghia.
