Professor Phan Thanh Binh, President of VNU-HCM has got a noble reward
Professor Phan Thanh Binh, President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City was rewarded by Francophone Embassies, Delegations and Institutions Group.
A ceremony to mark International Francophone Day was held on March 3, 2010 evening with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, Patrice Burel – President of the Regional Bureau of Asia Pacific (BRAP) under the OIF, French Ambassadors, and Delegations of Foreign Affairs. Since the celebration took place on the occasion of 40th foundation ceremony of OIF and 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, it drew a great attention of people interested in French.
On this occasion, Professor Phan Thanh Binh, President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City has got a noble reward for making active contributions to promote the development and cultural exchanges in French community in Vietnam. This reward was given by the Romania Ambassador inVietnam and chairman of Francophone Embassies, Delegations and. Institutions Group (GADIF)
Francophone Embassies, Delegations and. Institutions Group (GADIF) founded the award in Ha Noi in 2008 in order to acknowledge the teachers who had great contribution to French development in Vietnam. This award was first granted for culturist Huu Ngoc in 2008, and the following year to Ms Vu Thi My Hanh, the principle of Luong Dinh Elementary school in Ho Chi Minh city, who has been devoting herself to the bilingual Vietnamese – French classes.
