Spirit of enterprise in public organizations needs to be built

That is what was shared by Dr. Vu The Dung, Vice Rector of VNUHCM-University of Technology in the international workshop “VNUHCM-Center for Education Accreditation’s vision towards Asia” held by VNUHCM-Center of Education Accreditation (VNUHCM-CEA) on 14 October at the Administrative Building.

The workshop received 7 reports from domestic and international experts, speakers and university lecturers.

Speaking in the opening ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia, Vice President of VNUHCM, Director of CEA expected the workshop to be a place of professional knowledge and experience share from experts in building, developing and operating Non-profit Organization in general and Accreditation organization in particular. Mr. Nghia said that this workshop would enhance the understanding of the quality assurance systems in Asia as well as provide long term connection and cooperation opportunities.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Chavalit Wongse-ek, a member of summit council for quality development of Mahidol University (Thailand) said that the accreditation systems of the countries in the area had some common features, and in the upcoming time Vietnam would use accreditation standard sets of AUN-QA. Therefore, the experience in accreditation work and accreditation material creation of AUN-QA will be very useful for CEA.
According to Mrs. Concepcion V. Pijano – CEO of The Philippines Accreditation Association, CEA need s to understand the operation of the accreditation systems as well as accreditation centers in the area to apply for the upcoming development. Mrs. Concepcion also shared with CEA about experience and lessons which The Philippines has been through when founding and developing accreditation centers.
In terms of administration and organizing experience, Dr. Vu The Dung, Vice Rector of VNUHCM-University of Technology emphasized that the spirit of enterprise in public organizations needed to be built. According to Mr. Dung, if any organization like CEA  wants to develop, it must has the start-up spirit, available competitiveness and sense of responsibility.

To conclude, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia said that the opinions of the experts in two categories of education quality and organization administration accreditation will be a firm foundation for CEA and will contribute to form a model of and excellent center for education accreditation in Vietnam.
