VNUHCM-ITP launches Co-creative Space

On the morning of November 15th , VNUHCM – Information Technology Park (VNUHCM-ITP) organized the opening ceremony of “Co-creative Space “. The project is to serve VNUHCM students, faculty and community in the activities of entrepreneurship.
The ceremony were attended by Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia – Vice President of VNUHCM, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi – Director of ITP, Dr. Le Thai Hy – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communication and Mr. Pham Duy Hieu – Director of Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF).
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi stated: “The common disease of entrepreneurship inVietnam today is the lack of support for start-up entrepreneurs. Therefore, to extract the human resources from our students and faculty, VNUHCM-ITP has developed the iStartX program, to provide knowledge, creative skills and product development as well as to reduce the risk when starting a business. And to create space for social interaction in the process of starting a business at iStartX, VNUHCM -ITP has developed ‘co-creative space’ from the support of various personnel and entrepreneurs, which amounted to 60 million VND”.
Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi also expressed his hope that the program will contribute to building VNUHCM-ITP into a successful startup hub, attracting around 200 small and medium enterprises to invest in. By 2018, ITP will have reach the goal of attracting 1,000 engineers in the field of technology.
“VNUHCM-ITP Co-creative Space” will operate under a collective working space model, providing academic, research and startup support for students, faculty and community. In addition, VNUHCM-ITP and its partner entrepreneurs will regularly organize exchange programs, seminars and counseling for start-up.
On this occasion, VNUHCM-ITP and SVF has signed an agreement to become official partners in developing an entrepreneurship ecosystem at VNUHCM-ITP. VNUHCM-ITP has also awarded graduation certificates to participants oin the Fouth course of iStartX program. After the training courses, four groups with the best start-up projects have been selected for presentation at the ceremony.
